Natural sources

The poultry meat is not only tasty, easy to prepare and suitable for different food combinations, but also a natural source of vitamins, minerals, proteins and healthy fats.

Vitamins

The poultry meat contains vitamins of the group B which prevent the appearance of many diseases and take care of the proper functioning of the human organism.

Vitamin B12, provided to humans only by foods of animal origin, helps the organism to suppress anaemia symptoms, stimulates growth and appetite in children and is the caretaker of the nervous system.
Vitamin B3 is responsible for healthy looking skin; it eases migraine headaches and lowers the increased blood pressure. It is important for good functioning of the nervous and digestive systems and also helps improve the blood circulation.
Vitamin B6 stimulates the functioning of the immune system and balances the functioning of hormones.
Vitamin D helps bones and teeth at their proper growth and mineralization.

Minerals

The poultry meat contains numerous minerals – inorganic substances which are not produced by the body itself; therefore, we have to consume them ourselves with a balanced diet.

Iron is important for the proper supply of oxygen to the body, for production of certain enzymes and it helps metabolize vitamin B.
Phosphorus, Calcium and Magnesium function similarly in the body. They are built in the structure of bones and teeth and are important for the proper functioning of heart and kidneys and for the transfer of nerve impulses.
Zinc is the guardian of our immune system, it slows the ageing process, maintains and improves mental abilities and functions as myopia prevention. Shortage of zinc can cause infertility, lower sensory perception and lower sex drive.
Potassium maintains a normal blood pressure and influences the development of foetus during pregnancy.

Proteins

Proteins are necessary for the renewal and growth of our body cells. The poultry meat is recommended by experts as a healthy source of protein. Children require many proteins as well as elderly and physically more active people. The lack of proteins in children causes a slower growth and physical development, while in the case of older people, the body starts using its own protein sources, which causes diminished physical and mental abilities. A 20g portion of poultry meat alone satisfies 2/3 of human daily protein requirements.

Healthy fats

Fats are essential for our body, not only for energy but also because they melt and thereby activate certain vitamins, which are indispensable for our eyes, bones, skin and brain. Moreover, the essential fatty acids also act as antioxidants, help the red blood cells transport oxygen, help kidneys to proper functioning, protect the muscle fibres against decomposition, have positive impact on the speed of metabolism...
Experts recommend we should avoid saturated and trans fats. On the other hand, our diet should contain a moderate quantity of unsaturated fatty acids, which take care of our cardiovascular system. These can also be found in the poultry meat, which has an ideal proportion of proteins and fats and does not contain much cholesterol and unhealthy trans fatty acids.
